Rhod has over 20 years of operations and transaction experience focused particularly in aerospace and defense.
Prior to joining DASI, Rhod held the position of Chief Restructuring Officer at Aero Inventory Plc., a UK-listed aircraft inventory management business facing huge challenges following its bankruptcy in 2009. Hired by the Administrators (KPMG), Rhod led the restructuring of the business and arranged the sale to DASI in 2013.
Earlier in his career, Rhod trained as an engineer with Rolls-Royce Plc. in the UK. After studying for his MBA in the US, Rhod worked in various senior roles at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Engines in the US, Middle East and Europe. While at Pratt, he worked in the large commercial engine overhaul group and led an engineering team designing the early versions of the PW6000 geared turbofan (now the PW1000G).
On returning to the UK, Rhod spent time advising early stage technology and healthcare businesses before joining BAE Systems Plc where, as Director of Group Strategy and M&A, he led the disposal of BAE’s Aerostructures business to Spirit Aerosystems. Subsequently he was appointed Transformation Director of BAE’s £300m t/o Munitions business and was part of the team that turned the business around over an 18-month period and negotiated a long-term agreement with the UK MoD.
Rhod holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol in the UK and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He was also a founding trustee of Operation Smile UK, a charity that provides reconstructive facial surgery for children and young adults in developing countries.
